You Have "One Life to Give"

Recently, we read a book that we were so impressed with that we gave a copy to all of our children and asked them to read it. It is called One Life to Give: A Path to Finding Yourself by Helping Others.

It is written by Andrew Bienkowski, a man who was exiled with his family to Siberia when he was five years old. This experience of great suffering shaped Andrew's future and led him to establish an approach to life that emphasizes helping others as the essential path to finding one's greatest fulfillment. With over 40 years as a psychotherapist, Andrew is able to translate this experience into a very practical advice.

One of the great lessons Andrew learned was about the power of what he calls, "radical gratitude." He says, "Once we learn to actively seek reasons to be grateful, we suddenly find them everywhere... Radical gratitude allows us to make sense of and accept the past, to embrace and find peace in the present, and it creates a vision of hope for the future. Studies have shown that grateful people are happier people."

A New Chapter for 4Life

As many of you know, five years ago we accepted an assignment from our church to serve a mission. We had the opportunity to serve in Milan, Italy for 18 months, working to establish a center for young adults. It was very rewarding work. Thanks to the great leadership of our management team under the direction of President and CEO Steve Tew, and the amazing work that our distributors do on a daily basis, 4Life® continued to thrive and the company experienced some of its best growth ever. During our mission, we were also able to stay in close contact with everything going on at 4Life.

Life is full of surprises, and we were just recently asked to serve another mission, this time in Brazil. This is especially exciting since David served the people of Brazil as a young man for two years. For this assignment, we will live in Brazil for three years, beginning in summer 2014. We have been asked to oversee a mission with approximately 250 missionaries. Once again, we will stay closely involved with 4Life and all of you. We know that Steve and our executive team will continue to provide great leadership, as we further the important work we are engaged in at 4Life.

Being able to serve these missions has been a lifelong dream of ours and we are so grateful to all of you for allowing us to fulfill this goal. We assure you that this in no way diminishes our commitment to you and the wonderful mission of 4Life. In fact, our commitment to 4Life and our distributors—helping make your dreams come true—has never been greater.

Love and Service for the Philippines

On November 8, 2013, the Philippine islands were hit with record-breaking typhoons. Thousands of people were reported dead, and hundreds of thousands more were affected in provinces throughout the country. Survivors were in desperate need of basic life essentials like water, food, and hygiene supplies.

4Life® distributors and employees responded immediately, generously donating to help people in the Philippines. Foundation 4Life® contributed $20,000 to Feed The Children to support their on-the-ground mobile kitchens in the Cebu, Leyte, Samar, Iloilo, and Capiz provinces. 4Life Fortify® was served where possible.

Although 4Life executives and employees in the Philippines were not directly affected by the storm, they wanted to assist their family members and 4Life distributors who had been affected by the devastation. With a Foundation 4Life donation of $10,000, employees assembled over 800 relief packs to distribute to multiple towns that were impacted by the typhoon.

One area, Visayas, required that the relief packs be shipped by boat and then received by a group of 4Life distributors. Then, the packs were loaded onto a small canoe and paddled by local townspeople to a small island that had been completely wiped out by the storms. The recipients were overwhelmed to receive the supplies as they were struggling to survive.

4Life Philippines General Manager Eileen Tan expressed, "As someone who has seen first-hand the impact of this disaster, I am extremely grateful for the generous contributions of 4Life family members. We remain committed to doing whatever is possible to support 4Life distributors who are in need."

Celebrating Blessings

Recently, we visited Platinum International Diamonds Ileana and Hugo Johnson in California to interview them for their upcoming spotlight in Summit magazine. It was such a joy to be in their beautiful new home and visit with them and their five children. Their house is a dream—right on a lake and they have their own dock and boat. Hugo even took us for a ride and let David drive the boat!

The best part of the visit was hearing their 4Life® story and learning how 4Life has provided the means for them to overcome many obstacles in their lives. And now, they want to help empower others in the same way they have been empowered. We loved seeing how their whole family is involved with 4Life, and their children have such inspiring stories as well.

Sitting there in that beautiful setting, enjoying a wonderful meal together, celebrating their blessings, and thinking that maybe we were a small part of helping to bring about this success was truly a bit of heaven. Moments like these drive us all to keep sharing what we have with the entire world. The Johnsons are truly the kind of people that represent the best of the 4Life family!

Spotlight on New Gold International Diamond Ruth Florez de Bermúdez

Congratulations to new Gold International Diamond Ruth Florez de Bermúdez from Puerto Rico! She has proven to be a strong leader for her team throughout Latin America and we're so pleased with all she has achieved. We can't wait to see what she accomplishes next!

Before 4Life®, I was involved with other network marketing companies, but I didn't really believe in this type of business. When my enroller told me about 4Life and that I could become a leader, I decided to try again. I wanted to build a business that could help me, my family members, and everyone I know.

My daughter's experience with 4Life Transfer Factor® ReCall® made me believe in 4Life products. Today, she is an honor student. She reads and writes well, she focuses well on her homework, and she has developed a passion for painting and math. I love 4Life Transfer Factor ReCall.

Because of 4Life, my life is so much better in every aspect. My kids have a better lifestyle. I can help my parents. We travel. We support our church. I know this opportunity will allow me to achieve my dreams.
