Three 4Life Dreams

This time of year is perfect for spending time with family and friends, and reflecting on your blessings. And it's also a great chance to think about the dreams you've been able to achieve with the help of 4Life. We love sharing in your success!

My mother died several years ago, and my father passed away in 2004. I feared that my family members would become distant with one another, since my four brothers live far away from me. But now that we're all involved in 4Life, our relationships have only grown stronger. We see each other at 4Life meetings and conventions in Utah, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic. Besides building our businesses together, we spend time with each other, travel, and stay in contact with one another. This is the first of my dreams that has come true.

My second dream that has come true is to be able to help change people's lives with 4Life products. I have recommended the products to many people and I have heard many testimonials from people who have experienced fantastic health support.

I am in the process of making my third dream come true, which is to achieve financial freedom. I am pursuing this dream by searching for people who are interested in the 4Life opportunity. I know that I will make my dream come true and I'm not going to give up. I will continue to look for those people who will walk alongside me toward a better quality of life. It has been a blessing to be involved with this great company.

Reaching Out to Others

During this time of year, our hearts seem to be extra sensitive to the needs of those around us. Serving our mission in Italy over the past few months, we have been reminded of the many blessings we have. A few weeks ago, we began helping a young couple from Africa who had to flee their country due to political unrest, losing everything they had in the process. After a series of incredible events, they ended up in an Italian refugee camp. The couple came to Milan after being told it was a good place to find work, only to discover that the person they had put their trust in was nowhere to be found.

This man and his wife are stranded in a foreign country, with no way to communicate, no place to stay, and no family... and they are expecting their first baby! It has been so wonderful for us to witness how people have reached out to help this family. It certainly reinforces one's faith in the goodness that exists in everyone. It has also been a pointed reminder to us of how much we have to be grateful for in our lives.

One of the great blessings of 4Life is that our science and success put us in a position to help provide service to others. How grateful we are for all of you and the inspiration you are to us. Together, we are truly blessing lives and building people. From the bottom of our hears, we thank you for your example. We are convinced that 4Life distributors have the biggest hearts in the entire world. Together, we continue to make a difference in people's lives by offering them phenomenal health support, the opportunity to experience financial security, and the chance to be part of an incredible worldwide family. We wish you all the joy that giving and receiving brings during this very special time of year.

Growing Together 4Life

Here is another fantastic dream story that we recently received. We love learning how 4Life helps you achieve your goals and dreams!

Ángel Torres and Ana Rivera

Our story began after my husband Ángel completed 15 long years of service in the U.S. Army. We decided that we would like to start something different so we could work together and enjoy the work that we do. That's when Edwin Crescioni and Joel Rivera came to our house to present the 4Life opportunity. Ángel decided that 4Life was what we had been looking for to help us grow as individuals and as a couple. We faced challenges in the beginning because it was our first experience with direct selling. But with guidance from the International Networkers Team, we dedicated ourselves to this new path. Today, thanks to God, our upline, and the International Networkers Team, we have been able to share the 4Life opportunity with many people. We have noticed wonderful growth in ourselves as individuals and in our relationship as a couple. We have hope for a better future, not only for ourselves, but also for the people we have helped through 4Life. Thank you to the entire 4Life family for giving us the opportunity to become better people.

More Beautiful 4Life Music

Last week we shared a very special 4Life song that was performed at a meeting in Barcelona, Spain. Our Malaysia and Singapore markets recently held a convention and celebrated the five-year anniversary of the launch of 4Life in both countries. During the convention, we were treated to an original 4Life song that was commissioned by the 4Life Malaysia office. It was such a thrill to have 3000 people singing together. Click on the link below so you can sing along, too!

All across the world
We're changing lives around us
It's time to make a difference
We are family 4Life

We lead the field together
4Life is the one
You and I will always be
United standing strong and free

CHORUS
Together Building People
Let us keep the spirit alive
We can make a difference for you
For me 4Life

A lifetime of ambition,
Hopes and dreams our destiny,
Inspiration for you and me

4Life Makes People Sing!

At the 4Life meeting in Barcelona, Spain earlier this month, we were treated to a wonderful performance of an original 4Life song. The words and music were written by 4Life distributor Helge Zumdieck. It is such a great song, so we wanted to share the words with you.

We Live 4Life

There's a moment to take a chance,
Where you hold a precious gift right in your hands.

You just need to open up, follow your heart!

There's a moment to take a chance
,
You will take a lift up high into the sky.
Don't let go, 'cause you're guided by your soul!

We live 4Life, together building people,

We live 4Life, together building you.

We live 4
Life, together building the future of everyone.

There's a moment to take a chance,

Spread the news around the world and tell your friends.

What are you waiting for? Follow your heart!

Get yourself ready today,

You will brighten up your life and break
away
Into the open arms of the greatest love divine.

We live 4Life, together building people,

We live 4Life, together building you.

We live 4Life, together building the future of everyone.

We live 4Life, together building people,

We live 4Life, together building you.

We live 4Life, together building the future of everyone

Everywhere in the world.

Next week, we will share with you a 4Life song written by some of our Malaysian distributors. They performed it at their most recent convention and it was fantastic!

4Life is inspiring many people to achieve phenomenal health and financial security. Now that is something to sing about!

We Live 4Life

4Life Distributors Serve in India

This past week we had the privilege of visiting a very special place in India. It was our first time traveling to India and we could think of no better place to start our visit than at the SOS Children's Villages location in Hyderabad. It is a place unlike any we've ever seen before.

The mission of SOS Children's Villages is two-fold. First of all, they want to strengthen existing families who are suffering from a lack of funds. Their second objective—and probably the most important thing they do—is to provide a secure and loving place to live for children who have been abandoned, and to prepare them to be happy and productive adults. The thing that makes this place so different from an orphanage is that the children are placed in a "family." Each child is placed in the care of a "mother." This mother is a woman who does not have a family of her own and has dedicated her life to loving and caring for her SOS children. Most mothers in the village care for about 8–10 children.

The children learn to love and care for their siblings and work together as a family. They grow a garden and go to school. The school provides an academic education as well as skills training in subjects such as music and computers. Each house is part of a beautiful village, which consists of a common area where they have prayer and community activities. We were touched by the love and happiness we felt from these children and the dedication of the mothers was humbling. In her lifetime, one mother will raise about 25 children.

We were also touched to see that one of the buildings has a plaque on it dedicated to Foundation 4Life®. They are so grateful for the generous contributions made possible by wonderful 4Life distributors. Once again, our hearts swelled with gratitude for the vision and love of our distributors all over the world. Your selfless examples are lighting the way for so many people who watch what you do. There is truly no limit to what we can accomplish when we focus on Together, Building People through science, success, and service!

The kids at SOS Children's Villages welcome David and Bianca Lisonbee.

David and Bianca Lisonbee share special moments with the children.

Celebrating our Global 4Life Family

This past week we heard a lot on the news about the 20-year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. This caused us to think about the great blessings that freedom brings. Nations, families, and individuals are blessed when social, economic, and personal liberties exist.

When we had the pleasure a few weeks ago to meet with 4Life distributors from Russia and Eurasia, we were reminded that just 20 years ago, this association would probably not have been possible. We were also impressed that many of the same dreams and desires unite all of us. No matter who you are or where you live, each of us wants to be healthy, enjoy a great lifestyle, and provide for the people we love. It was humbling to hear about how 4Life products and the 4Life opportunity are helping people in Russia and Eurasia achieve these goals.

Even though governments can do their part to help unite people and change the world, the really powerful relationships happen one-on-one. Person to person. One country to another. One distributor reaching out to another. 4Life is helping unite people from all over the world into a wonderful global family. We love the way the 4Life culture is enhanced and enriched through the unique talents, strengths, and friendship that each culture brings to our worldwide family. We have much to celebrate!

The Future is Bright!

Last week, we had the opportunity to attend a marvelous meeting with 4Life distributors in Barcelona, Spain. There were over 800 people in attendance. The excitement conveyed by distributors about the success they've experienced with 4Life was electric! The 4Life staff from the Barcelona office did a fabulous job organizing the meeting. Kudos to all who were involved!

After that, we set sail on a cruise for the very first Russia/Eurasia Great Escape+ trip. In addition to all of the Great Escape+ attendees, we were thrilled to enjoy the trip with Platinum International Diamonds Dave and Gabriela Daughtrey and Russia's first Gold International Diamond, Lyubov Alimova. We were so impressed at the number of medical professionals in the group. They are a very educated group who love the science of 4Life Transfer Factor®. We heard many wonderful testimonials about how the 4Life products have provided immune system support in their part of the world. It was very inspiring.

Whether in Spain, Eurasia, or anywhere else in the world, one thing remains the same: the hope and optimism you feel as you witness the enthusiasm of 4Life distributors. In today's world, we are seeing a lot of fear and worry about the economy and what the future holds. Below are some pictures from these events. You will notice that none of these people look worried or fearful. The future is very bright for 4Life and its distributors!

The crowd enjoys the 4Life meeting in Barcelona, Spain.

Another great dream story!

Robinson Cabrera

We love reading your dream stories! Here's one from 4Life Diamond Robinson Cabrera:

"For me, being involved with 4Life is a privilege, especially because I was in a very frustrating situation before. I had a lot of financial debts and there was very little hope of me getting out from under them. That's when my 4Life sponsor Vladimir de Alencar told me about the 4Life opportunity. Beginning at that moment, my life has changed in every sense. I believed in the 4Life opportunity so much that I took a big leap of faith and signed up. I knew that this was my opportunity to change my life. In two weeks, I had doubled the investment I had made. With the money I've made with my 4Life business, I have been able to pay off some of my debts. In order to attend the illuminate '09 convention in Orlando, Florida, I had to sell a bracelet and miss a week of work, but it was worth it. I feel more secure and confident in myself. I feel a sense of energy inside because I believe that, in the near future, I will be enjoying a better lifestyle and helping other people around the world. 4Life has transformed me into a better human being. It is the best thing that has ever happened to me."

4Life Family in Italy

One of the great things about being involved with 4Life is that you have a built-in "family" all over the world. Recently, we had the great opportunity to connect with some of our 4Life family members here in Milan, Italy. It was wonderful to have them tell us about their success and their dreams for building their 4Life businesses in the future.

We thought we would share a picture of us with them in front of the famous Duomo (cathedral) here in Milan.

Platinum Leadership Conference

4Life President Steve Tew, his wife Sherma, and the 4Life Platinum International Diamonds

Last weekend, 4Life held a Leadership Conference in Park City, Utah. We were able to "attend" by way of a live video feed. It was great to "see" so many people there and really feel the enthusiasm in the room. Our experiences in establishing a center here in Italy for young people to receive guidance, inspiration, and knowledge has underscored for us the reality that people all over the world are looking for something to make their lives better. More importantly, they are searching for people who can provide them with the tools to create that better life.

A few days ago, we received an e-mail from International Diamond Shawn Alford, one of the distributors who attended the conference.

"I wanted to tell you both how much I was inspired by the Leadership Conference. I have been involved with this company for 10 years and this was the best event—apart from 4Life conventions—that I have ever attended. It gave me the renewed motivation and belief to take my business to the next level. Thank you for your perseverance with 4Life, because it allows me to pursue my dreams and goals, help 4Life achieve their vision of taking 4Life Transfer Factor® to the world, and help others achieve their personal best."

We are so grateful to all our Platinum International Diamonds who took the time to train others on how to reach their goals and dreams. Here are a few of the tips they shared:

Ray and Barbara Meurer: Be real. Connect to people through personal experiences.

Herminio Nevárez and Yadira Olivo: Stay committed to the mission and vision of 4Life and you can achieve your dreams, no matter the obstacles.

Bonnie Taylor: Always build your business with professionalism.

Juan Rosado and Damaris Zapata: Put passion in what you say and what you build.

Jeff Altgilbers: Support your downline distributors and choose the right people for your team.

Dave and Gabriela Daughtrey: You can experience success as you do the work yourself and then show others how to do it, too.

Thank you to all our wonderful 4Life leaders who are teaching others how to fulfill their potential. We are so thankful we have leaders who are definitely worth following.

No dream is too small!

Joel Rivera and Jennifer Martínez

The following is a dream story that we recently received. We loved reading about Joel and Jennifer's road to achieving their dreams with 4Life.

"Dreams motivate us to achieve things in our lives. When we began with 4Life, we had many dreams: financial, health, and material. There was one dream, though, that many people may think of as insignificant. Our dream was to be able to wake up every morning and have breakfast together as a couple. Working our jobs, my husband as an auto detailer, and me as a receptionist at a veterinary office, we had no time to eat breakfast. We would wake up and drink a cup of coffee and go our separate ways. When we signed up with 4Life, we had only been married for four months, so having breakfast together was very important to us.

"Two years after we started our business, I was able to leave my job and work full-time with 4Life. Today, four years after we first began, we both do 4Life full-time. I am now able to make and eat breakfast with my husband, without being in a rush. Sometimes it's the little things that count. Having breakfast together every morning is a dream come true. If we did it, anyone could do it. Don't ever give up on your dreams, even if you think that they are insignificant. Every dream—no matter how small it may be—is very significant."

Joel Rivera and Jennifer Martínez, 4Life Presidential Diamonds
Florida, USA

We need your help!

In our recent blog posts, we've written a lot about the sense of family that 4Life can bring into your life. We are particularly sensitive to this right now since we are living far away from home while serving our mission in Europe.

This week in the news, we all became aware of the devastation in Manila, Philippines. Tropical Storm Ketsana has caused severe flooding in many areas. At least 140 people are confirmed dead, with more than 170,000 families affected and almost 500,000 people displaced due to flooding. Much of the city is still under water, thousands are without power, and major roads are still impassible due to flooding and residual mud.

It is times such as these when the reality of having a 4Life family becomes very important. Many of our 4Life Philippines employees were affected by this disaster. Some of them lost their homes, cars, and all of their personal belongings. Several employees will literally be starting from scratch. Below is a picture of the car of one of the Philippines Finance department employees. We are also currently collecting information on the status of our 4Life distributors in the area.

On Monday, Foundation 4Life® sent an emergency first-response donation of $10,000 to Manila and we expect to participate more as the full impact of the storm reveals itself. Our offices in the region are working to raise money, provide clothing, and assist on a local level. Vice President of Southeast Asia Michael Seet and General Manager of 4Life Research Philippines R. Glenn Ortega are overseeing in-country relief and fundraising events.

If you suffered through the 2007 hurricanes in the Dominican Republic and Mexico, or even if you have experienced your own personal trials, you know how much it means to have 4Life friends all over the world sending their love and support.

If you are in a position to provide financial support to our 4Life distributors and employees in the Philippines, we encourage you to do so. Please visit www.foundation4life.org today to help make an immediate difference in the lives of people desperately in need of our help. This is where Together, Building People® truly comes to fruition. We can offer our help as a company, but it is together that we can make the most difference in the lives of the people in the Philippines.

Thank you, in advance, for your generous support. We're so glad you're part of the 4Life family!

Million-Dollar-Hole-in-One

Recently, we learned about a million-dollar-hole-in-one shot that was made at the Mark Eaton Celebrity Golf Classic tournament in Heber, Utah. Why is it that we all love stories such as this? Perhaps it's because even though the chances of winning aren't very high, those "long shots" are still possible. It's this same type of belief that keeps us going after our dreams. When we see others beat the odds it helps keep the dream alive in all of us, doesn't it? What's even more amazing about that story is that the golfer who made the winning putt almost didn't play in the tournament because of a sore wrist!

Many of you know that 4Life has offered a million-dollar-hole-in-one for the past four years at the Champions Challenge golf tournament held in Thanksgiving Point, Utah. This same tournament will be held October 12–13, in conjunction with our Powered by Platinums Leadership Conference. We are really excited at the thought that someone might make the lucky million-dollar shot this year. The great thing about the 4Life opportunity is that it doesn't take luck to turn your dreams into reality. The 4Life products and opportunity are so fantastic that everyone can be a winner when they partner with 4Life to make their dreams come true. At the Leadership Conference, we will hear from Platinum International Diamonds who have done this very thing. We truly wish we could be in attendance. Hopefully, we'll hear that someone at the Champions Challenge golf tournament has won the 4Life million-dollar-hole-in-one!

Another secret ingredient for fantastic health

In the past, we have quoted passages from Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell. Gladwell tells the story of an extraordinary community in New England whose inhabitants—a community of closely knit Italian immigrant families—enjoyed exceptional physical and mental health for several generations. At first, scientists looked at different aspects of their diet, convinced that there must be a secret ingredient or an omission of something that was contributing to their great health. Although the community members had good dietary habits, scientists did not feel that this was the reason.

So, they looked at exercise and environment next, and came to the same conclusion as before. After looking more closely, scientists determined that the biggest factor contributing to the group's overall well-being was the strong sense of family and community that existed between them. They watched out for one another and one another's children. In the evenings, they sat on their porches and talked to one another. They had a wonderful support group that helped them deal with the stresses of life. They truly were family!

As great as 4Life Transfer Factor® is for our bodies, we also have something else to offer that is equally nourishing. And that is the sense of community and family we feel amongst our 4Life family members. Although we can't sit on our porches and chat each evening, we can connect through meetings, conference calls, e-mails, blogs, and conventions. This is a people business and any way we can connect with and support one another is a great strength to all of us. This sense of family and community is a powerful influence that can greatly contribute to our overall mental and physical health.

You Belong at 4Life!

Last week we mentioned that we are in Italy serving a mission for our church. One of the main projects we are working on is establishing a center for young people. The center will be a place that they can come to during certain hours to socialize and strengthen one another through wholesome recreational activities. Last week a young man walking home from work happened upon the center and joined us. He played games with some of the young adults here and had refreshments with us. He said that he had just moved into the area and was looking for some friends.

I thought about how everyone in the world needs friends. One of the things we love so much about 4Life is that we share a sense of family—each of us can make friends all over the world. We know we all belong to something greater than any one of us individually. Isn't that one of the best things about being a member of the 4Life family?

Whether you are the CEO of a company or a new distributor, everyone needs good friends! We are so grateful to have 4Life friends all over the world. We hope you feel that way, too!

Stay connected through technology

As many of you know, we are living in Italy right now. We are enjoying wonderful experiences as we help establish a center in Milan for young adults as a place of refuge, inspiration, and wholesome fun. It is going very well. Through the amazing benefits of modern technology, it has been possible for us to stay connected with everyone at 4Life on a daily basis.

Are you taking advantage of this in your business? If you are someone who feels somewhat insecure about your technology IQ, we encourage you to ask one of your children, grandchildren, or another family member to help you. There are so many little things that really are not that hard to learn—e-mailing, texting, and even blogging—that can help you keep connected with people in your 4Life organization all over the world.

Technology can also be a great benefit in your prospecting efforts. Isn't it great that you can talk with someone new for even just a few minutes about 4Life Transfer Factor® and the Life Rewards Plan, and then say that you would be happy to follow up by sending a link to the 4Life website or e-mailing 4Life marketing materials? We even have the Summit magazine online, as well as so many other resources to help you succeed.

Of course, nothing could ever replace the human touch, but technology helps us make that touch reach further and further around the world!

4Life is perfect for people of all ages!

Ken Williams, David Lisonbee, and Bianca Lisonbee

The above picture shows us with 4Life Diamond Ken Williams at our illuminate '09 convention. He is 92 years old and lives on the island of Barbados. As far as we know, Ken is 4Life's oldest Diamond distributor. He is also the author of an historical novel called The Passage to Eden.

It's wonderful to be reminded that it is never too late to seek support for our immune systems with 4Life Transfer Factor® products and take advantage of the 4Life opportunity for success. 4Life also attracts both the young at heart and the young in years. Pictured below is Fadzli Salim of Singapore. At 30 years old, he is Asia's youngest Gold International Diamond. Amazing!

We're so pleased that people of all ages and in so many countries have recognized that 4Life can help them live better lives. We are building people all over the world—together!

Best month ever!

Greetings from Italy! We are getting settled into our apartment in Milan, and beginning to work with the young people here. We continue to keep in touch with the 4Life home office on a daily basis.

We are proud to announce that July 2009 was the best sales month ever in the history of 4Life! July is usually one of the slower months of the year due to vacation season, but not so for 4Life. Several of our Asian markets posted record sales as well, which is exceptional. More than ever, people want to support their health and increase their income in these uncertain times, and 4Life provides the perfect vehicle to do both.

We also want to congratulate our distributors on another milestone: 4Life is featured in the 2009 Direct Selling News comprehensive list of 65 direct selling companies with global corporate wholesale revenue of more than $100 million per year. It's important to note that 4Life reached the $100 million per year milestone years ago—and we're still growing by leaps and bounds! The article states, "4Life is the creator of Transferceutical Science and world leader in the distribution of transfer factor products. Currently, the 4Life International Product Registration Department is working on 91 product registrations in 25 countries."

Congratulations on this phenomenal recognition and for our best month ever! We know that with your help, 4Life will continue to excel.

Foundation 4Life sponsors a family!

4Life President Steve Tew recently returned from visiting our office in India and he gave us a report on some of the work Foundation 4Life® is doing there. Foundation 4Life sponsors a Children's Villages home in Vottinagulapally Village, Rajender Nager Mandal, Hyderabad, India. SOS Children's Villages is a worldwide organization that provides loving homes to children in need. The India branch cares for over 200,000 orphaned, abandoned, or homeless children.

The truly wonderful thing about SOS Children's Villages is their unique approach. Recognizing that children thrive best in a family environment, every child is placed in a new "family" with other people who have come from similar circumstances. Foundation 4Life sponsors a specific home in the Hyderabad village that houses 12 children, plus a "mother" who takes care of them. The house mother guides the children in their studies and helps them in their overall development. She also encourages the children to participate in village activities.

Steve shared with us how the poverty and struggle to meet basic needs on the streets in India sharply contrasted with the very nice family environment within the village itself. The village is well-maintained, the kids have nice clothing, and most importantly, they function much in the same way that a "normal" family would. One story that really stood out to Steve was a baby who had only been there for a few weeks. She had been rescued from a trash can and brought to the village. What a dramatic change—going from basically being treated like a piece of trash to having a home with a loving and caring family.

There is truly life-changing work being done in India, and we're thankful that we can be a part of it through Foundation 4Life. Not all our stories are this dramatic, but they are just as meaningful. Every day we hear about lives being changed for the better through the use of our products and the financial opportunity we offer. Together, we are doing things we could never do alone!

What's your dream?

A few weeks ago, we told you about a special dream of Health Sciences Advisory Board Member and Gold International Diamond Dr. Rob Robertson. We also recently visited the dream home of Health Sciences Advisory Board Member and International Diamond Dr. Duane Townsend and his lovely wife, Joan. It was so wonderful to hear Dr. Townsend say that their home is the product of all they have accomplished with 4Life. Aren't dreams really the best product we offer at 4Life®?

We want to know about your dream and how you have achieved it with the help of 4Life®. Please send us your story so we can share it with everyone through our blog.

There are no little things!

Recently, we've been reading Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell. He's also the best-selling author of Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking and The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference. One of the chapters in Outliers made a real impression on us. It analyzed the black box recordings of planes that have crashed. Although it's certainly not a very pleasant subject, some very important lessons can be applied to prevent the failure of any organization.

Gladwell mentions that contrary to what we see in movies and TV shows, a plane isn't usually brought down by any one big thing going wrong such as equipment malfunction or catastrophe, but rather, a series of at least seven small errors in combination. And, in many cases, the breakdown of communication between the flight crew and the captain is a primary cause of failures that could have otherwise been overcome.

As we were talking to some of the executives at the 4Life home office about this, President of Eurasia Emma Oganova commented that this same scenario can play out with our physical health. It isn't usually one big thing that brings us down, but rather, the cumulative effect of a lot of little choices. She said, "There really are no little things!"

We think this is also true of the interaction and communication of distributor team members. Take time to make sure you understand what others are trying to tell you. And, make certain they understand your feelings, intentions, and expectations. In one transcript of a plane that crashed, the pilot's communication with the air traffice controllers was very formal and polite until the very end, but he failed to communicate the urgency of his situation in a way that allowed air traffic controllers to respond appropriately. Let's make sure we say what we mean and mean what we say—in a way that all of our team members understand. This book gave us a lot to think about. We highly recommend it!

Trip to Nkosi's Haven

After a very long flight to Johannesburg, South Africa, I finally had a chance to visit Nkosi's Haven! Bianca was not able to join me but I did enjoy taking two of my children there. 4Life became a supporter of Nkosi's Haven several years ago through the work of two of our distributors, Bernice Mannon and Bonnie Hornsby. The Haven is the brain child of Gail Johnson and her adopted son Nkosi Johnson, who had the vision and fortitude to build these outstanding facilities for HIV-positive orphans and some HIV-positive mothers. Although Nkosi himself died several years ago after a long battle with AIDS, his legacy lives on through Gail and the Haven.

It was a marvelous experience to visit the three different locations that Gail has built over the last decade. The first is a property with two homes, one for older teenage boys and the other for teenage girls. Each of the children has their own responsibilities for the upkeep of their home. In fact, two girls were cooking a breakfast of fried eggs when I walked in. All of the children were respectful and busy doing different tasks. We also met several volunteers who spend their days teaching the children important life skills, such as computer proficiency.

The second location is called the "Village" and lies a few miles outside the city center. This is the newest of the facilities and is in the midst of new building construction that was financed by Qantas Airways and other donors. In their small hospital, we saw a few ill mothers and a very tiny baby who was doing well. Dr. Susan Black, an American physician, is the volunteer medical director and a big believer in 4Life Transfer Factor®. The third facility is situated on 12 acres about 20 miles outside the city and is called Nkosi's Haven 4Life Farm, which 4Life purchased for the orphanage several years ago.

At Nkosi's Haven, Gail houses nearly 200 children and some mothers. The children were happy and excited to meet us. All in all, it was a wonderful visit. Foundation 4Life® continues to support Nkosi's Haven with donations and 4Life products. We love to provide help where we can as part of our Together, Building People® philosophy.

Make dreams come true with 4Life

For us, one of the most rewarding things about 4Life is witnessing so many of you working to make your dreams come true. As similar as those dreams may be in general—financial security, good health, and time freedom—they are often very diverse in the details. Most 4Life distributors are familiar with Rob Robertson, Jr. MD, a former emergency room physician and a member of our Health Sciences Advisory Board. He was one of 4Life's very first distributors and the first recipient of the Credendo Vides Chairman's Award.

Dr. Robertson has just made one of his dreams come true—the completion of The Wonder Team, a book that tells the story of the Centre College Praying Colonels and their rise to the top of the football world in 1917–1924. Dr. Robertson really communicates his love of history as he tells this great story. As you read this book, you can also discern Dr. Robertson's admiration for stories that reflect the human spirit of courage and determination. It is a story that will inspire anyone, whether a football fan or not.

This September, a documentary based on this story will air on a public television channel in Kentucky. Way to go, Dr. Robertson! It's great to see all of the wonderful things that 4Life distributors accomplish with the time, freedom, and resources that they have. We love to hear about the many different dreams that each of you have achieved. Keep on dreaming, and keep on making those dreams come true. That's what 4Life is all about!

A doctor's prescription for success!

We recently had the chance to visit with Dr. Duane Townsend, a world-renowned physician and one of the founding members of our Health Sciences Advisory Board, who just returned from a five-day, five-product, five-city 4Life meeting tour in Japan and Korea. Dr. Townsend and his wife Joan are committed and successful 4Life distributors.

As we spoke with Dr. Townsend, it was wonderful to witness his infectious enthusiasm. This recent meeting tour even included on-stage costumes and theatrics. It is such a blessing to have a physician of his caliber so excited about the great benefits of 4Life products. He believes that even though there are other "juice products" out there, none of them can compare to 4Life Transfer Factor® RioVida® Tri-Factor® Formula, in terms of both antioxidant support and immune-boosting power.

During the meeting tour, Dr. Townsend not only shared his passion for the products, but also the best ways to share 4Life products and the financial opportunity with others. He challenged everyone at one particular meeting to talk with two people about 4Life when they went back to their hotel. But, he told them that he had already spoken with his interpreter and the hotel bellman!

Dr. Townsend also shared the idea that no one will ever sign up with a stranger. He said that we must make friends with people first. It may take a day, a week, or a month, but genuine friendships can produce genuine results. He has enjoyed making friends all over the world as he shares 4Life with others. This is the kind of passion and energy that fuels great success. We appreciate so much the credibility, expertise, passion, and fun that "Dr. T." brings to the 4Life family.

Bring out the best in others

Recently, we have been reading excerpts from one of our favorite books, How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. Even though the title itself makes it sound like friends are prizes that you win in a contest, the content of the book is full of great substance and wisdom on how to build people and strengthen relationships.

The author poses this question: "Why did [American steel tycoon] Andrew Carnegie pay a million dollars a year, (back when a million dollars was worth even a lot more than it is today), or more than three thousand dollars a day to Charles Schwab? Why? Because he was a genius? No. Because he knew more about steel manufacturing than other people? Nonsense." As president of Carnegie Steel Company, Schwab said that he was paid this salary because of his ability to deal with people. Schwab considered his ability to inspire enthusiasm to be the greatest asset he possessed. He suggested that by appreciation and encouragement, we help develop the best in others.

Dale Carnegie quotes Schwab as saying that nothing can kill the ambitions of a person more than getting criticism from their superiors. Schwab believed that no good ever comes from criticism; instead, he found ways to give people an incentive to improve and do better.

So often we do the opposite when dealing with people in our lives. It is easy to find fault with the people we live with and associate with at work. Too often, the good things they do go unacknowledged. Schwab said that in his wide association with all kinds of people all over the world, he had yet to find the person, however great or accomplished, who did not do better work and put forth greater effort under a spirit of approval rather than criticism.

These words were a good reminder to us to focus on the positive behavior of those around us and try to bring about positive change. After all, we are in the people business, aren't we? Whether as distributors, leaders, parents, or CEOs, we are all involved in the great work of Together, Building People®.

Invest in real happiness

The other day, while driving up to the home office, we heard a quote that we wanted to share with you. Nineteenth century American preacher Hosea Ballou once said, "Real happiness is cheap enough, yet how dearly we pay for its counterfeit."

Wow. That really makes you think, doesn't it? This goes along with the principle that doing things the right way initially may take more of an investment in time, energy, and resources, but in the long run, it is always worth it.

Things that come cheaply are not real and lasting. Whether it be in our relationships, our business, or whatever endeavor we pursue, it's important to recognize that shortcuts don't ever really save anything or yield anything of lasting value.

Take time today to reflect on those truly real things in your life. We think you will find that the things that make you genuinely happy are the things that required you to make an investment in yourself. After all, what more valuable commodity do we possess?

Look for Diamond-makers

Not too long ago, International Diamond Solomon Butler visited the 4Life home office. Anyone who has met Solomon or heard him speak knows about the infectious power of his enthusiasm and passion for life... and 4Life! It was inspiring to hear about his belief in 4Life, our products, and our Together, Building People® mission. During his visit, Solomon said something that made a big impression on us. He said, "I don't look for Diamonds. I look for Diamond-makers."

We think this statement encompasses the true meaning of leadership. It's about looking for the leadership potential in others. This type of attitude really goes together well with Together, Building People, because our goal isn't to just get people to follow us, but rather to recognize and foster in others their ability to lead as well. This kind of vision makes for long-term success in the network marketing industry. And, this kind of leadership not only identifies the leadership potential in others, but also recognizes that you must have the confidence and humility to not be threatened by that potential. Some of the most successful CEOs have said that one of the first things they did on their road to becoming successful was to surround themselves with people they felt were their superiors in one way or another.

We salute all of you who are engaged in the great work of building people and fostering leadership potential in others. That's what 4Life is all about.

Edgar Rentería joins Team 4Life

David Lisonbee, Edgar Rentería, and Steve Tew

For professional baseball player Edgar Rentería, baseball is life. Recently, he was kind enough to invite David, President Steve Tew, and Senior Vice President of Marketing Trent Tenney to a spring training game. We knew this Gold Glove winner and five-time All Star from Colombia had been using 4Life products for some time but had not had the opportunity to meet and speak with him yet. It was a privilege for David, Steve, and Trent to spend some time with Edgar. He is a gracious man and he's excited to be involved with 4Life. During the visit, Edgar talked about how much he loves 4Life products and said that his family members have been using them as well with great success.

We are also very happy to be working with Edgar as part of our prestigious Team 4Life. Rentería joins a group of world-renowned athletes, such as World Golf Hall of Famer and NBC sports analyst Johnny Miller, CBS sports analyst and previous winner of the British Open Ian Baker-Finch, equestrian and six-time Olympic medalist Mark Todd, and Adelaide Crows Australian football stars Brett Burton and Andrew McLeod. These athletes endorse 4Life Transfer Factor® and the international opportunity that 4Life distributors take to the world.

Edgar has expressed how grateful he is that 4Life provides opportunities for families to improve their lives. We're proud to be associated with Edgar Rentería and we're grateful for his commitment to 4Life and the message that our distributors share with people all over the world.

Finding Opportunity in Adversity

Can you believe it's been a month since our illuminate '09 convention? We know that those of us who attended came away greatly inspired with real tools to help us achieve our dreams. We also know that challenges and opposition are normal parts of the journey as we work to realize those dreams.

One of the many great points that our keynote speaker Erik Weihenmayer conveyed was that whenever you set out to do something really worthwhile, you can count on opposition and adversity. In fact, he said it is part of the equation. If you are experiencing obstacles right now on the road to achieving your dreams, think of them as evidence that what you are doing is very worthwhile. Erik challenged us to become people who don't just make it through adversity, but instead, find a way to harness the energy from those storms to go to a place we would have never traveled to otherwise. Isn't that a fascinating idea? Adversity isn't just something that gets in the way of our dreams. Rather, it can be the very source of the power that enables us to realize them!

Please don't get discouraged by the obstacles that lie in your path. See your challenges for what they really are—opportunities to become the kind of leader that can not only climb mountains, but also help others do the same. After all, a mountain would not be a mountain if it didn't have some steep terrain. We promise you the trek will be well worth your perseverance.

Bringing Joy to La Casa Rosada

David Lisonbee, Sister Dolores Pascual, and Bianca Lisonbee

Sister Dolores and Bianca

This week we wanted to share with you a few more pictures taken during illuminate '09. One of the highlights of convention for us was the presence of Sister Dolores Pascual and some of the children from La Casa Rosada orphanage in the Dominican Republic. The two above pictures were taken the night of the Foundation 4Life® charity auction. During the evening, our Platinum and Gold International Diamond distributors were given the opportunity to bid on furnishings for the different rooms and areas of the new addition that 4Life helped build at La Casa Rosada.

It was so touching to watch the way in which our distributors opened their hearts and their wallets in bidding for these rooms. As each bidder went higher and higher, the smile on Sister Dolores' face got wider and wider. One of the great things about this event was that we were able to see and feel the results of all of your generosity. So often when we participate in fundraisers we never really get to physically witness where our money is going. That's not the case with Foundation 4Life. We think it's easy to see the joy that the Sisters and children felt as a result of the over $200,000 total donations made by 4Life distributors and Foundation 4Life. Once again, you are an inspiration to us. Thank you!

Together, Building Families

This week, we had our post-convention meeting here at the 4Life home office. It was great to relate our own experiences from illuminate '09 with each other, as well as those that you, our distributors, shared with us. We estimate that close to 6000 people from 52 countries attended illuminate '09!

One of the things that touched our hearts was all of the children that were a part of convention. We were so grateful to have our own children there, plus several of the children from our La Casa Rosada family. It was wonderful to see that so many of our distributors have chosen to involve their families in their 4Life journeys. Because of the success you have achieved with 4Life, you are able to spend more time with the people you love most.

Since a picture is worth a thousand words, we want to share with you a few images of the great kids that joined us at illuminate '09. Enjoy!

illuminate '09!

Words cannot accurately express our emotions after experiencing illuminate '09 last week. It was truly an amazing event in so many ways, thanks in large part to the devotion, commitment, and energy that our 4Life distributors bring with them. One child who attended with his parents even told David how excited he was to try out the new-and-improved 4Life Transfer Factor® Immune Spray. That's the spirit!

We especially enjoyed getting the chance to speak with so many of you. How we wish that we could have wrapped our arms around each and every person in attendance at illuminate '09! It was great to forge new friendships, especially with the kids who traveled to convention all the way from La Casa Rosada orphanage in the Dominican Republic. Our own children had a fun time dancing the night away with the La Casa Rosada kids at the Closing Party and it was hard for all of us to say goodbye to them.

It was so wonderful to be with everyone at illuminate '09, and we're both feeling sad that it was over so quickly. But, all of us who attended will always carry the memories from this fantastic event with us. We're already looking forward to the next convention, and we hope you are, too!

New 4Life Science and RioVida Burst!

Wow! Already, illuminate '09 has been such a whirlwind of activity. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with so many of our distributors at the Opening Party and Disney World®. It's always so wonderful to renew friendships with people we haven't seen in a while, and begin relationships with new friends from all over the world.

We promised that there would be big things in store at illuminate '09 and General Session I definitely did not disappoint. We're so pleased to announce the results of our latest 4Life Transfer Factor® findings—showing that 4Life Transfer Factor Tri-Factor® Formula increased production of IgA antibodies by an average of 73%, in 100% of all participants¹! Since IgA antibodies provide a vital barrier of protection for our bodies, these new results suggest another significant way in which 4Life Transfer Factor products can support a strong and smart immune system, and a healthy and fulfilling life.

Also during General Session I, we introduced a brand-new product, 4Life Transfer Factor RioVida® Burst. It has all the goodness (and great taste!) of 4Life Transfer Factor RioVida Tri-Factor Formula, and now it's even more convenient and portable!

We're so proud to be involved with the fine scientists in our Research and Development department, who are constantly making sure that we provide our distributors with high-quality, innovative, and effective products that are backed in solid science. We're confident that our new products and this new scientific insight will enable you to further support your health, and go further with your 4Life business.

For more information on the details of the new 4Life Transfer Factor test and all of our new products, please visit www.4life.com.

¹Immunoglobulin A (IgA) test results obtained from an initial, open-label study on 21 reportedly healthy adults. Participants took 4Life Transfer Factor Tri-Factor Formula for two weeks, followed by 4Life Transfer Factor RioVida Tri-Factor Formula. One hundred percent of participants saw an increase in the production rate of salivary secretory IgA by an average of 73% after taking 4Life Transfer Factor products for four weeks when compared to a one-week baseline; a brief drop occurred at the transition between the two products.
